Meet Aimmee Kodachian Riley, Author of "Tears of Hope"

An inspiring true story of one Middle Eastern woman's journey of overcoming tragedies and turning obstacles into success.

Aimmee lived through War. Poverty. Escaping death three times. Burying 13 close family members by the age of 26. Child abuse. Fourth grade education. Dyslexia. Marriage at 14. Motherhood at 15. Domestic violence. Fighting for her teenage daughter's life. Becoming a grandmother at 32. Bankruptcy.

Achieving only a fourth grade education and having dyslexia did not discourage Aimmee nor did it keep her from becoming a successful woman. Aimmee has become an entrepreneur, author, motivational speaker and life coach.

Although it's against Middle Eastern culture to open up about intimate, personal matters, Aimmee has the courage to share her story in an effort to help others realize that it is possible to overcome life's greatest challenges. She believes that living your best requires a recipe. She has developed a powerful workshop, and her goal is to share with the world the seven steps that helped her through her obstacles and elevated her life to what she calls "Living Your Best Life Ever". She also speaks on the five steps that will help you turn your dreams into reality.

An excerpt from "Tears of Hope":

I was twelve years old and for the first time in a long time, my family was all together, happy, and ready to flee Lebanon for greener pastures in Egypt. It was June 1975, as I sat in the living room enjoying a nice conversation with my older brother, Robert.

My dreams came true when he told me he’d help me read and write better and he would make sure I went to college. He even asked me what I would like to study in the future. “I want to be a defense attorney,” I told him. “I want to defend people who are treated unfairly. Or maybe I’ll be a teacher so that I can help children who need special attention in school.”

I stood up and headed for the kitchen. “I’ll get your tea, Robert,” I said with a smile on my face, elated and full of hope. And then we can pick up where we left off. I’ll be right back.” Those were the last words I ever spoke to my brother.

I turned my back going toward the kitchen. Not a second later, a bomb came through the window. I turned around. All I saw were flames and smoke. Everything became a blur. The air was thick and hazy. My eyes began to burn. I started coughing and gasping for air. I couldn’t breathe...

Dyslexia Information and Links

Why is dyslexia a gift?

Dyslexic people are visual, multi-dimensional thinkers. We are intuitive and highly creative, and excel at hands-on learning. Because we think in pictures, it is sometimes hard for us to understand letters, numbers, symbols, and written words.

We can learn to read, write and study efficiently when we use methods geared to our unique learning style.

Join us as we explore the positive talents that give rise to dyslexia, and share our knowledge about the best ways for dyslexic people to learn. Here's what we offer:
